Google Workspace is being used for full collaboration across the organization. We are also using it for all messaging (Gmail, Chat, Meet) to communicate internal and externally with our employees and customers. Currently, we do not use any MS Office applications to have a better ROI for the organization. It has easy integrations with other SaaS applications that we use.
  • Feature releases
  • Uptime
  • Integration between SaaS programs, like Salesforce
  • Sheet functions and limitations
  • Better Chat integrations to keep up with Slack
  • Redlining in Docs
Google Workspace is a simple to use messaging and collaboration platform that is universal between most electronic devices for ease of use. Platform administrators should feel comfortable with the various enterprise levels of security that can be configured. Extra training is needed for those in Executive Admin type roles in dealing with the Executives that they support.

The core of our [Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)] use revolves around GMail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, and for me, the admin portal. We primarily assign drive letters were set up shortcuts so the Google Drive users can get to documents stored on Drive using their desktop applications rather than the Google equivalents. While Google Docs, Sheets, and the others are OK, most users are accustomed to Microsoft Office, or other desktop products. We recently switched to Google Voice, and it has made a huge, positive difference! Getting notifications of voicemail and e-mail, including a (not 100% perfect, but pretty close to it) transcript of the message is very helpful. Being able to forward more than one phone number's messages to a primary e-mail address is also very helpful. These various tools when used together make for very productive collaborative environment, but also does well for the person working alone.
  • Integration of Google Voice with contacts
  • The entire suite of product being available, and being able to interact
  • Storage and sharing with Google Drive
  • Gmail's easy to use flexibility and extended functionality
  • VERY good and attentive support 24/7
  • Very sophisticated, and relatively easy-to-use mail administration. (To me) It seems far more straightforward than Exchange.
  • A single Google Workspace user should be able to have more than one Google Voice phone number (ideally)
  • At times, Google Meet seems a little clumsy (but I think they're about to address that with the new release...It may or may not be better. Who knows? :))
  • Some screen layouts are a tad clumsy, but they are sufficiently malleable that once one gets the hang of it, one can customize the environment quite a bit.
  • A viable (for small business), relatively-inexpensive, virtual desktop that would include/could include a Windows license or, at least close-to-perfect emulation.
  • It would be great if there was accommodation for those who send out a great deal of mail in a given day. Not everyone who does that is a spammer. Although, by Google standards, and relative to some others, Google allows for sending out a good bit of mail, for those who do mass volumes and would prefer not to have their own mail server, it would be good if Google could find a way to accommodate them.
[Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) is well suited for] a small business with a staff that is very closely connected to one another, who share a great many resources, but who may not need a full-blown file server on premises. Any group of people working remotely from each other, needing to collaborate, do conference calls or the like, share information.

An office transitioning from a hard-core Windows environment, with an on-premises Exchange Server, high-end Windows servers, anything that requires very tight integration with Microsoft Office applications, or just prefers the Microsoft way of doing things, would not be a good prospect.

Google Workspace is used by everyone working at Holidify. It is an integral part of our daily planning, content storage, and data analysis. Being able to access google spreadsheets and documents simultaneously across multiple devices and by multiple users helps in maintaining a cohesive working environment with the current pandemic situation forcing us to adopt a 100% work from home policy. We find it quite easy to use as well and due to google workspace's easy learning curve it becomes easier to onboard interns or new co-workers into our working processes and workflow. The ability to set meetings and reminders via google calendar and the ease with each it integrates into Slack (our official intra-team communication platform) makes it easy such that nobody ever misses an important discussion.
  • Google calendar and google drive [are] integrable with popular communication platforms like Slack making it easy to share spreadsheets, documents, and files. The prompt notifications make it such that nobody misses anything important.
  • Google documents and spreadsheets being [easily] accessible by multiple users across multiple devices makes accessing, edit and [analyzing] data more efficient in terms of time.
  • Google meet is one of the best video conferencing software due to its superior sound quality and ease of access even by third-party users. It is easy to set up meetings and invite users as needed.
  • Support and troubleshooting could be a lot better. Most of the time reading through support does not easily help tackle the issue at hand when trying to learn a new feature or understanding it correctly.
  • Google meet should be [optimized] in terms of internet bandwidth usage and CPU usage when [the] video is turned on. I have mostly noticed an unreasonable spike in CPU usage when using google meet on lower-end devices.
When your work requires constant and effortless document collaboration then I cannot think of anything better than Google Workspace. The seamless experience of creating documents or spreadsheets and being able to share/grant access with as many or as few participants is a gamechanger for an urban working environment.

The pricing could be more flexible especially for organizations that are initially starting out and do not have sufficient funds. More flexible pricing will eventually attract more startups or groups of users to adopt google workspace over its competitors.

We use Google Workspace throughout the entire organization, primarily taking advantage of Gmail, Drive, and Sites. We use groups to containerize users and control access to resources internally, primarily centering around file access. Since our teams are globally distributed we rely on Google Workspace to be the core of every communication we have, including customer support, sales and meetings. As [a] global workforce, we're able to reliably stay in contact with each other despite the distance that separates us.
  • Simplified sharing and collaboration through Drive and Shared Drives
  • Greatly enhanced advanced functions in Google sheets like macro recording
  • Regular updates and proactive communication around them
  • Out of the box spam filtering
  • SSO and third party app integrations
  • The support team is frustrating to deal with and make you perform redundant troubleshooting tasks at each step of the way
  • Per page permissions on Sites - they had it on classic but removed it on the new sites
  • Need to add mail delegation to admin console so super admins can give managers access to departed staff accounts without having to reset passwords
  • Longer log history - 60 days sometimes doesn't cut it
Google Workspace is ideal for companies of any size and geographic configuration. Their billing structure is easy to understand and it's easy to get set up. All the apps work as soon as you log in so setup is extremely easy especially for companies just signing up or enterprises migrating from on-prem or hybrid setups to a full cloud solution.

If you're a nonprofit you get the core suite for free, which is a huge deal since the cost savings mean any nonprofit can get set up with no risk.

Google Workspace is used across the company. It is our primary email tool. We also use the Drive and various document features (such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.). We integrate it with Slack and many of us have Drive on our local laptops. It helps us to collaborate across departments and externally (with clients and business partners).
  • Realtime collaboration in documents
  • Easy ability to share files
  • Ability to view and recover past version
  • The calendar customization and features are great
  • Email formatting is inconsistent
  • Email doesn't have advanced features like Outlook and Exchange does such as read receipts
  • Now that our company has grown, would like to see better ways to view/manage calendar availability
I think Google Workspace scales easily - it seems easy for our admin to provision new users. However, I wish when we added new employees, their calendars would automatically appear in my list of available calendars. Instead, I have to manually add each person, which led to some misses last year as we brought on a record 20+ new employees. And then seeing availability is also tricky. So I find calendar management less than ideal. Document collaboration is great! I love the ability to collaborate real-time on files, and now that they added the ability to upload/convert Microsoft formats, it's even better.

Google Workspace is used across the entire organization, mainly for email. Gmail is the best provider we have ever used - it is easy, user friendly, and fast compared to the major competitor. Because Workspace is a Google owned product, our domain based emails are used to log into every Google owned service out there, which makes things much easier.
  • User controls
  • Domain based email addresses
  • One login to many websites
  • Should be easier to control what users are / are not able to do
  • Admin dashboard should be easier to use
It is perfect for every business type and solves a lot of needs. From one login to many websites, to closely controlling what employees can access, and best of all - the domain based email service. We use it for our business and recommend it to all of our clients. It beats the pants off Office 365!

Google Workspace is leveraged across the agency as our primary cloud storage, email, shared docs/spreadsheets, and chat platform. We've been utilizing this system for eight going on nine years now and I have no complaints. The system is very easy to implement, add users, and manage our storage needs.
  • Cloud storage & file sharing.
  • Simple email platform.
  • Ease of use & implementation.
  • Authentication across multiple third-party applications.
  • Email cleaning & archiving could be improved.
  • Google Sheets needs functions improvements.
  • Document conversion is a bit off at times.
Google Workspace is great for businesses of all sizes that require ample cloud storage, simple email platform, calendar management, and simple CRM/third-party application integrations. I highly recommend Google Workspace for cloud storage and email over Office365, but there are of courses situations where both are necessary such as Excel & Word. [Where] Google Workspace could improve the most is the Sheets application. I would much prefer the formatting, pivot tables, and functions implementation to mirror Excel. Google Docs though [is] an excellent and simple document editing application. It would be nice if there were some user customization options.

All in all I've been very happy with Google Workspace and will continue to leverage for our business for the foreseeable future.

Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] is used for all email and Google access for staff and students in our district. We use mail, drive, docs, classroom and other. Having google as a one stop shop for so many different needs helps us keep problems to a minimum. Having all of the apps that Google hosts available to us in the cloud also keeps costs down on-site both in terms of hardware and maintenance.
  • Email is great. It doesn't require any on-site hosting.
  • Having one account that is able to use so many different features is very convenient.
  • Google Workspace for education is nice for allowing teachers and students to participate in their respective roles.
  • The admin functions often times do no allow for mass changes behind the scene.
  • When there is downtime, there is no option for offline access and any troubleshooting is out of our hands.
  • Getting support can sometimes be difficult. While I can always get someone, it can take a while and/or require a callback.
Google Workspace [(formerly G Suite)] is great for schools and small businesses. While I've never been part of a large organization (>2500 people), I imagine that some of the behind the scene changes can become increasingly difficult as you increase the number of users. There are third party apps and cloud companies that allow for some of these changes, but it would be better if it was natively available through the Google Workspace GUI.

We use Google Workspace across the entire company for all employees. It houses our most used tools, including email, video calls, calendars, document storage, file sharing, and so much more. It makes it easy to onboard and offboard employees since most essential services are linked to a single login in one way or another.
  • Google Workspace is incredibly useful for user management. Automatically assigning licenses or restrictions by organization is particularly great.
  • Google Workspace is reliable. We haven't had a major outage in all the time we've used it.
  • Support is actually pretty good. Calling my ISP or domain registrar is always a pain, as I usually find I know more than them about their own products. Google Support is generally competent with helping people with Google Workspace.
  • Google needs to work on a more consistent onboarding process for organizations that haven't used Workspace before. A bad agent can delay the process by weeks.
  • Google needs to work on consistent naming and branding for things. Workspace/G Suite/Apps, Hangouts/Chat/Talk/Meet/Voice and various permutations have made the past 5 years of Google products a chore to keep straight.
  • While the constant updates and feature updates are nice, they can mean an interface that changes regularly, and occasionally good features that are lost.
If you're eligible for Education or Nonprofit, absolutely give it a try. It's free, and it provides so many essential services. For businesses, I haven't found anything that has all the features of Workspace for the price. If you have a personal Gmail account and want the same for your business with management tools, then Google Workspace is absolutely the way to go.

I use G Suite for my own business. The thing I use the most is its email function. It can easily create multiple emails for the organization and manage how it is being used. It is solving the issue of having a specific domain email. It makes our business look a lot more official. We use the Google Drive feature too and handle most of our shared documents on G Suite.
  • Easy to use. It's simple and anyone can learn how to use it.
  • There are a lot of resources - from organization users to handling business documents.
  • The help function! If you don't know how to use it, there's a simple help function.
  • GSuite can do a better job at connecting it Google Analytics vs. having a separate sign-in.
  • Their admin console could be more customizable and have things like analytics up in the front.
  • The pricing could be lower.
GSuite is good for any small business looking to get started with some professional online tools. It has helped us get our emails and company profile started. It has helped us with managing users and documents. We wouldn't be able to function without G Suite as a business. I think G Suite can work for larger organizations, but it might start getting pricey.

Google has been one of those tools I use for all sorts of things, from email to calendar, to Google Drive. There are just so many tools to use that benefit a variety of uses. Google Drive has helped me keep pictures and allowed for digital filing when needed.
  • How easy it is to use the calendar to schedule events and invite others to meetings.
  • Adding and sharing files in Google Drive.
  • All around simple ease of use.
  • More elaborate features in Google Sheets.
  • I love using Grammarly. If Google could do something similar that would be great.
G Suite works really well for businesses looking for a free or inexpensive office program similar to Microsoft. Google works out really well as it is easy to use and you can link your google account to so many other tools. They also have tools and apps for all sorts of tasks including presentations, surveys, documents, task lists, calendars, spreadsheets, and reminders.

We use G Suite company wide for the bulk of our internal and external communications. It's so much more than just email as you get file storage, document collaboration, calendar, the list goes on and on.
  • Document collaboration in real time is almost magic.
  • Email and calendar are both reliable and feature rich.
  • It's far easier to configure and administer than an on premise solution like Exchange.
  • Excellent documentation and responsive support staff when you need it.
  • Hangouts just isn't up to the task of being an enterprise chat solution. We use Slack instead.
  • Lack of a good desktop client is a problem for some users who are used to Outlook.
  • There are still some settings that can only be set by end users, like vacation response, that would be very helpful to have access to as an admin.
  • Structurally complex organizations (multiple child companies, acquisitions, etc.) can be challenging with G Suite. It is lacking a forest-like function.
G Suite will be an excellent fit for most organizations. Cloud-first organizations will especially appreciate G Suite and it's myriad of web tools. G Suite might be less of a fit if an organization is already heavily invested in Exchange. Sales organizations might also find the lack of mail merge a problem. G Suite really shines in that it can be set up easily and cheaply while still being a full featured product. A start up can be born on G Suite and never need to leave!

G Suite is used as our email and collaboration software. It is used for our entire organization which is global and under 1000 people today. We use the G Suite apps to collaborate, develop and share documents, however, we do still leverage MS Office applications for sharing externally.

  • Collaboration - there is nothing better today to collaborate and have multiple people work on a document, spreadsheet or presentation. G Suite allows multiple people to all edit the doc, track changes, comment, resolve comments, all without stepping on each other.
  • Email - most users are familiar with Gmail and G Suite is Gmail thus ensuring an easy ramp for new users. If you have Outlook resistant users you can have it connect to G Suite as an email client, but I believe its best natively.
  • Number of plug-ins for G Suite/Chrome that allows for integration and improvements (Grammerly, Seismic for sales docs, salesLoft, tracking software, etc.. all make email and other features more useful due to this community.
  • Email Groups - For example in creating groups, its a challenge to see who is in a group from email, you have to go into a separate G Suite app (groups) or expand it in the calendar app. Also, nested groups are also more complex, but this is all due to Exchange being around for so long and I expect Google to continue to accelerate the features to get to parity and beyond in this area. There are also some delays in pushing updates from some apps, which can be a little strange when you are used to instant changes with Exchange.
  • Features compared to Office - if you do advanced Spreadsheet or presentations you will find the G Suite of applications a bit lacking, but for general users its fine. However many companies that work with external vendors and customers still rely on MS Office suite for final versions.
  • Google Forms - its pretty basic compared to tools like SurveyMonkey. Very limiting, limited logic and design tools
Startup/Mid-size company with limited IT staff and the need to collaborate. Easy to buy, easy to deploy and manage. The collaborate is the best especially for fast moving companies where doc changes are constant and many authors.

G1000 company with limited collaboration, just email needs with high levels of compliance/data governance and the desire to retain their own data. Financial companies, etc.. may be challenged to use off-site email services. However I do Google knows how to scale to support these large infrastructures, but admin's may be challenged to manage these larger organizations.

G Suite has been a game changer for us; we used it to manage our own in-house mail server and this is so much easier.
  • Easy to manage users.
  • Good storage capacity.
  • Groups are very flexible.
  • Browsing and searching colleagues email or docs if an admin.
  • "Off boarding" as a user leavers.
  • Login in to manage users process is clunky.
  • Awesome hosted email solution, it is far superior to our previous solution which was a hosted office-based server, and prior to that a web server.
  • It reduces the need for a skilled sys-admin and means that email administration can be carried out by an office manager.
  • It also provides an easy way to log on to other apps through its SSO/authorisation features.
